Welcome to DUMUNC XXVII!
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the newly designed home of the Duke Model United Nations Conference.
On behalf of the Duke International Relations Association, I cordially invite you to join us for our 2007 conference, to run from February 21-24, 2008. Now in its 27th year, DUMUNC boasts a long-standing reputation as the premier Model UN simulation for high schools in the southern United States, and promises to be a rewarding and unforgettable experience.
At DUMUNC, we appreciate the importance of meeting delegates’ committee preferences. We offer those seeking a more intimate experience the opportunity to select from a generous assortment of small committees capped at only 15 delegates. Additionally, those that prefer the clout of larger committees may select from several enticing choices. A dedicated and professional staff ensures that each delegate will be challenged to utilize the full range of realistic diplomatic and military options at their disposal.
Not only do we strive to meet your expectations, we aim to consistently exceed them by means of boldly undertaking the unprecedented. From exciting new committees that range from a Joint Coordinated Cabinet crisis simulation of the 1956 Suez Crisis to the United Nations Policy Institute, we will constantly immerse every delegate in the rapid decision making processes that characterize international diplomacy.
This February, join us here in Durham for an exciting and truly singular experience. I look forward to serving as your Secretary-General for DUMUNC XXVII.
